Family Community Education

Family and Community Education (FCE), formerly known as Home Demonstration Club, has been an organized club across the state of Tennessee for over seventy-five years. Members of FCE Clubs make a difference in their community by upholding the following goals:

  • To learn through shared experience,
  • To improve home and community life,
  • To strengthen adult education, and
  • To promote projects that enhance family and community life.

There are currently four FCE Clubs in Jefferson County. Each club meets monthly to organize volunteer projects, learn about current educational topics, and discuss upcoming events. Jefferson County FCE is very active in community projects. Members are continually impacting the community by donating time and materials to local assisted living establishments, schools, churches, and other institutions that work to make a difference in the county. Members of Jefferson County FCE are always striving to better their environment by recycling and promoting “green” living in the community. The clubs also sponsor other events such as a Cultural Arts and Fashion Revue Show, Quilt Show, and a Flower Show to allow members and others in the community an opportunity to display their talents.
